Performance celebrating St. Nicholas Day and Second Advent
On the 9th of December, during the Second Advent, the Chamber Choir Patter gave a short performance celebrating St. Nicholas Day, which had recently passed, and the approaching Christmas season.
The program included:
Troparion for the melody of the Week for Sunday, December 9th (Tone 7), and the Troparion to St. Nicholas; Tsariu Nebesnyi by Mykola Dyletskyi; Kyrylo Stetsenko's Psalm 103; A (styhyra) sticheron for Christmas and Mykola Leontovych's arrangement of Shchedryk (Carol of the Bells) performed in both Estonian and Ukrainian.
On this day, we wanted to perform some works in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Tallinn, one of the oldest Orthodox churches in Tallinn. The baroque iconostasis of the cathedral was created in 1720 by Kyiv-born architect Ivan Zarudny.
