Illia Humeniuk with mixed choir HUIK! and Mart Siimer bring exciting contemporary music to the audience with the concert "Mountain of Silence". In the Jaani churches of Tallinn and Tartu, the music of minimalists Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass and Valentõn Sõlvestrov will be joined by Samuel Barber's Agnus Dei and the Estonian premiere of Dobrinka Tabakova's Truro Canticles for mixed choir and organ.
Stop for a moment at the beginning of the Christmas month to enjoy a special programme rarely performed in Estonia. "The juxtaposition of European and American minimalism, with the light and vibrant choral sound and the deep and supportive organ sound, gives the audience the opportunity to listen to the resounding silence around us and within us. It's like sitting on a mountain and reflecting on the moments that have been and the moments that lie ahead." said conductor Illia Humeniuk.
