Maksym Rylsky's text describes a transitional moment between spring and summer, when nature is preparing to bloom. The author skilfully uses images of nature to convey a sense of anticipation and nostalgia for the past. The air, filled with the threat of thunderstorms, carries fatigue, emphasising the intensity of change. Summer, washing and laughing like a child, reflects youth and cheerfulness. The author, however, wonders whether spring and its blossoms will return, symbolising the uncertainty of the future and the hope for the repetition of beauty.
My composition was written to convey a light, gentle mood. It reflects warm sunny days and a feeling of serene happiness that comes with this beautiful season. Using repetitive patterns, we are immersed in this state of lightness, conveyed through the tenderness of the women's voices, and the uncertainty that remains an open question for the future.
The work was written especially for the spring concert of Chamber Choir Raduga (conductor - Galina Morozova-Iljenko).
Recording of the premiere performance from the concert in the Kadriorg Art Museum on April 9.
